I am a self-professed chick-lit, romance novel addict :) and I was so happy to come across this list of reads for older women! I am very much over the "Twilight" "50 Shades of Grey" romance phenomenon that's swept the nation. I enjoy reading books with heroines that are closer to my age! I also need to read books with women who are strong. It's great to read a book about someone I want to see succeed as opposed to sniveling, confused, unsure teenagers I end up pitying rather than root for! I just finished a series of three books (The Look to the Future Series) by author Mary Metcalfe (http://www.lakefrontmuse.ca/). The books are “Winds of Change” “New Beginnings” and “Road to Tomorrow.” Mary Metcalfe’s writing can be compared to authors Nora Roberts and Jodi Picoult. They are all stories about second chances, dealing with loss and starting over again and allowing love and happiness into your life! I think all of her characters are easy to relate to, flawed, and loveable. I hope you enjoy them as much as I did!!

BACK ON THE MARKET introduces us to Vicky Andrews a 40 something divorcee who is trying to make a life for herself - while raising her teenagers and solving a mystery. Hen lit at its best!

5 start reviews on Barnes and Noble, Amazon equates LA Frazier to Janet Evanovich and Vicky to an older more mature Stephanie Plum. This book will make you laugh, nod in recognition and melt your heart. No wonder I read it all in one night!

THE CRONE CLUB with colorful characters in their 60s definitely fits into the Hen Lit genre.
Recent 5 star reviews on amazon and goodreads describe it as: “A novel that is very hard to put down……This is a wonderful example of the power of female friendship at its strongest……I’d recommend this book to anyone who is feeling a bit lost and disheartened with the world, no matter what age you are.” And: “Hilarious,” ”a riot,” “enormous fun,” ”thoroughly enjoyable tale,” and “extreme behaviour, frenetic, funny scenes, and revealing truths.”
