October 2009 Site Update

Hey all, I apologize for letting this website sit and languish again! I have found myself extremely busy and at the same time, interested in different genres of books (again). I am currently going through an ‘Ancient Egyptian History’ and ‘Speculation’ reading phase. Of course every night I still read a few chapters of a chick lit novel before going to sleep, but rarely anything new. Sophie Kinsella’s Twenties Girl is sitting on my nightstand, unread, as are a couple of other recent/new releases. I also have about 3 somewhat recent chick lit novels that I’ve read in the past couple of months, but have yet to review.

I don’t want to keep promising to update this site, but I will do my best to update it soon and add the reviews…

I am interested to know if anyone on here would like me to set up a new forum on this site? One person commented on a recent post that they would be interested in chatting with fellow chick lit fans on a forum. (Long-time fans of this website will remember we used to have a pretty active & fun forum, which unfortunately got deleted during a server crash). I’d be happy to set up a new one if enough people respond and are interested. So IF any of you would be interested, please leave a comment on this post and let me know! I will be back to check in a few days.

August Update

Sophie Kinsella’s Twenties Girl Is Out Today!

I’m always excited when one of my favorite authors has a new book out, and today is no exception! Twenties Girl by Sophie Kinsella was finally released today. I went and bought myself a copy and look forward to reading it.

I will be writing a review for it as soon as I get a chance to read it, so keep an eye out!

Merging TeenChickLit & ChickLitBooks

Hey all! I have decided to merge my TeenChickLit.com and ChickLitBooks.com sites into one. After all, most chick lit fans read the teen stuff as well as the adult stuff, and vice versa.

So, I will be adding my teen chick lit reviews onto this site in the next few days. And although there is a super-cute layout on TeenChickLit.com, I will be forwarding the domain to this site as well.

Old Reviews & More Updates Coming

You all have probably noticed that I’ve been frantically adding several reviews that I had up on this site a couple of years ago. I will continue adding the older reviews – and may actually finish today – so that I can start adding New Book information. Once that is accomplished, I’ll start adding new reviews. Then I will begin updating the sub-genres pages with more thorough and up-to-date information, which will be a work-in-progress for quite some time to come, I’d imagine.

Please note that I’ll be occasionally testing out some new scripts and plug-ins for this blog, so if you see some weird stuff on the page that doesn’t make sense, just wait a couple of moments and refresh the page (F5). Thanks for your patience during this time.

Keep an eye out for an upcoming review of Lauren Conrad’s L.A. Candy which was surprisingly good! It is actually more of a teen chick lit novel!

Site Update… Finally!

Hey everyone! You may notice that I have finally updated the site. The layout is much improved and I’ve begun to add some of my older reviews. I will continue adding the older reviews plus some new ones, but it will definitely be a work in progress for a while.

Hey everybody! I have some bad news about the forums: I have so far been unable to resurrect them. Which means at some point soon I will just have to start over from scratch and recreate them.

I will be posting a couple of quick book reviews in the next few days as well and put up the new November 2006 books.

ChickLitBooks is Now a Blog

Hey everyone… welcome to the new ChickLitBooks.com.

You’ll notice several changes here. First and most importantly, we are now a blog. You are probably asking “Why??” Many reasons factored into my decision to do this, but it was mostly the fact that blogging is a lot easier – yet powerful – to manage than running a regular site. As many of you know, this site has languished since June and was even down for about a month in the late summer. In any case, making this site into a blog will be a very easy way to keep files backed up (in case we have a server crash like last time) and save TONS of time with updates.

Please bear with us during the transition; I will be adding tons of content and information over the next few days! You are free to leave comments, but if spam becomes a problem I will require you to register on this blog to leave comments. It would be wise to save yourself time and do it now.
