Book Review: The One

The One by Kiera Cass

Published by Harper Teen, Harper Collins

THE SELECTION changed the lives of thirty-five girls forever. Now, only one will claim Prince Maxon’s heart…
It’s swoon meets the Hunger Games in the final instalment of THE SELECTION trilogy!

For the four girls who remain at the palace, the friendships they’ve formed, rivalries they’ve struggled with and dangers they’ve faced have bound them to each other for the rest of their lives.

Now, the time has come for one winner to be chosen.

America never dreamed she would find herself anywhere close to the crown – or to Prince Maxon’s heart. But as the competition approaches its end and thethe one threats outside the palace walls grow more vicious, America realizes just how much she stands to lose – and how hard she’ll have to fight for the future she wants.

I finished this book last night and I have to say it was incredible. The whole series from start to finish was one of the best I have ever read!

The book is very well written and extremely emotional. By the time I finished the book, I was crying so hard I had collect myself before turning in for the night!

American is a realistic character who actually reminds me of Bella Swan in a lot of ways. She is conflicted and torn between two men in a way that makes sense. Old flame versus new love. But she ultimately realizes what love really  is, and the responsibilities that come along with it.

I loved the love letters at the end of the book that Maxon sent to her while she was away from the palace also. So incredibly romantic.

Kiera Cass is a fantastic writer and I can’t wait to see what she comes out with next!
